1 cup white flour
1 cup whole wheat flour (or all whole wheat)
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
¼ cup (1/2 of 1 square) margarine
1 egg
2/3 cup milk
  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. Mix dry ingredients together in a medium bowl.
  3. Cut in margarine with pastry blender until the size of small peas.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat egg until frothy.  Mix in Milk.
  5. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients.  Stir only until moistened.
  6. Flour the counter and turn dough onto counter.  Knead lightly 8-10 times.
  7. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  8. With a rolling pin, roll dough until it is about 1 inch thick.  Cut into squares, about 2”x2” or use a cookie cutter.  Place on baking sheet, spaced evenly apart.
  9. Bake at 400F for 12 minutes.
