Hamburger Patties
1 pound lean ground beef
¼ cup bread crumbs
1 tsp salt (or seasoning salt, or onion soup mix, or steak spice…)
½ tsp pepper
1 egg

1. Mix all ingredients in a medium mixing bowl and knead well with your hands.
2. Form into 6 patties, no more than 2 cm thick.*
3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook burgers about 8 minutes on each side or until cooked through.
4. Use a meat thermometer to make sure the middle is 160F/70C.
5. Add cheese & BBQ sauce AFTER the burger has reached the correct temperature, cook a few minutes more.
*Remember that they shrink and get thicker as they cook so make flatter and bigger than you want them to end up.
